The Powerful Impact of PYP Students Solving Clean Water Challenges in South Sudan in 2026
In Nam Sung Elementary School, which is an authorized PYP World School for the International Baccalaureate program, students of Grade 4 were able to take their inquiry learning to practical action through a project entitled “Bringing Clean Water to South Sudan.” Through their reading of A Long Walk to Water, students have learned about the lack of clean water sources in South Sudan and decided to act on their own accord to collect money and spread awareness through a student-led campaign.

The International Baccalaureate has rolled out draft AI Design Principles that seek to ensure the responsible development and application of AI within the organization’s global educational environment. Released in March 2026, the design principles center on ethics, student-oriented and inquiry-based learning and ensure the relevance of educators in all decision-making processes. Based on five key principles, which include safety, transparency and continuous improvement among others, the project is developed through a partnership between the IB and global agencies like UNESCO and OECD.
