The International Baccalaureate has announced the IB Community Inspiration Award, set to formally launch in 2026 with nominations opening November 2025. This represents one of the biggest community-facing initiatives introduced by IB in recent years, recognizing students, educators, alumni, and contributors displaying outstanding dedication to IB core values.
Core Values Recognized: International-mindedness, ethical leadership, service, community impact, and lifelong learning. The award creates a formalized platform to celebrate positive impact within the global IB community.
Award Purpose
The initiative solidifies community involvement and upholds IB’s vision: “to create a better and better world through education.” It recognizes long-term positive contributions across communities and regions, aligning with IB’s strategy of encouraging agency, intercultural understanding, and responsible global citizenship.
Who Can Be Nominated
Open to all connected with the IB ecosystem:
IB Students
Enrolled in PYP, MYP, DP, or CP showing leadership or community service evidence.
IB Educators
Teachers, coordinators, staff demonstrating commitment through teaching innovation or student development.
IB Alumni
Graduates continuing IB values through work, research, public service, or social impact projects.
Community Stakeholders
Mentors, volunteers, partners supporting schools through various contributions.
